I'm happy that you're thinking of attending The Sanctuary. The following information will give you an idea of what to expect when you visit. We’re familiar with that uncertain feeling you get when visiting a new place for the first time, and we know you’ll have a lot of questions, so we hope to answer a few here. Our prayer is that you’ll encounter God in a way you never have before. ~ Pastor Bobby Lewis
Where are you meeting?
We are currently meeting in the Crowne Plaza hotel in Blanchardstown across from Blanchardstown Centre. Immediately upon entering the lobby you’ll see a large pinboard which lists the hotel’s current meetings. Just look for “The Sanctuary Church” and you'll find our room number.
Where do I park?
The Crowne Plaza hotel in Blanchardstown has plenty of parking, so if you’re driving, just park anywhere in the hotel parking area.
Is there a bus stop close by?
Absolutely! You can take Dublin Bus to stops 2960, 4747, 7025, 7026, 39a, or Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. All of these stops are just a few meters walk from the hotel.
What should I wear?
Many people aren't sure what to wear when they visit. We want you to be comfortable, so wear what you're comfortable wearing. When you're at one of our services, you'll see a range of styles from jeans to business suits. Casual or "Sunday best" . . . it doesn't matter. Most importantly, wear something you can worship in.
What happens when I arrive?
If it's your first visit, you’ll be asked to fill out a Connection card so we can have a record of your attendance. We’re honored when someone takes the time to be our guest, and our pastor would like to send you a letter thanking you for attending The Sanctuary.
What should I expect during the service?
When you visit The Sanctuary, you’re not walking through the doors of your customary Sunday morning church, but rather a place that’s filled with the energy of people who are not ashamed to lift up Jesus Christ. Our services are filled with vibrant worship. We have a live band that leads in worship and we clap our hands, lift our hands, sing aloud, and offer heartfelt expressions of praise and thanks to God. Click here if you would like to read some verses from the Bible that describe the way we worship. Our Sunday service normally lasts around an hour and a half.
What’s offered for children?
As a new church, we don’t offer a full spectrum children’s ministry—yet. We do have weekly Sunday School for children ages 4-7 that starts right after the worship portion of the service. We’re currently working to get this ministry going full scale, but until then, please be patient with us. Mothers with infants and small children are most welcome and encouraged to attend. We only ask if the little ones become fussy that you please step into the corridor.
What kind of music do you have?
The Sanctuary believes in the power of music. We believe it speaks to the heart and soul, that it’s a critical component when preparing the heart and soul to receive the message God has in store for you. That’s why our style of music is upbeat, uplifting, soul-reaching, and varies from week to week in an effort to deeply touch the hearts and souls of all cultures who gather to worship with us.
What’s the vision of The Sanctuary?
To evangelize Ireland, especially Dublin, and equip people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in spirit and truth, for the glory of God. We want to make a lasting difference in your life, in our community, and the world. We exist to glorify God through authentic worship and the proclamation of His Word and seek to provide a place for everyone to come to know and experience Jesus Christ for themselves in the power of the Holy Spirit.
What’s the purpose of The Sanctuary?
The primary goal for us at The Sanctuary is to teach the Word of God in order to help you develop your own personal relationship with Him. We want you to walk away from our weekly services with a message you can apply directly and immediately to your daily life, your family values, personal friendships, and work relationships. Please come join us and allow us the opportunity to show you that we don’t just talk-the-talk, but walk-the-walk.
What’s the history of The Sanctuary?
The Sanctuary began as an outreach of Great Hope Gospel Ministries in Waterford, Ireland, where Thomas Potter is the pastor. Pastor Potter carried a burden for Dublin for many years and had endeavored to found a church there on several occasions. In 2010 Pastor Potter asked Pastor Bobby Lewis and his family to assume the work in Dublin. The Lewis family moved to Dublin and took over on January 2, 2011. Our history is short, so come make some history with us.
