PASTOR BOBBY AND TANYA LEWIS
I began preaching at age fourteen while attending Christian Life Tabernacle in Memphis, TN, pastored by Rev. Billy Lewis. Continuing part-time preaching and evangelizing until the age of twenty-one, when I became a full-time evangelist for two years. In 1991 I met and married Tanya McKinney. Tanya is a talented musician and singer with a heart for teaching. Together we have two children, Robyne and Sawyer.
In May 1996 we responded to GOD's call and moved to Augsburg, Germany on the A.I.M. program to serve as Pastor for an eight month term. It was during this tenure that missions took root in our hearts.
Upon returning to the US, we accepted the pastorate of Christian Life Tabernacle in Memphis, Tennessee. While in Memphis we founded Tabernaculo de Vida Cristiana, a Spanish church. This Spanish work is now pastored by Rev. Julio E. May Jr.
In 1998 we resigned the pastorship in Memphis upon receiving an appointment as Missionaries to Germany. Working as missionaries over the next few years we were privileged to work in many European countries. Some of those countries include Germany, Poland, Czeck Republic, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and The Netherlands. That same year while visiting Dublin, Ireland, the Lord placed a burden on our hearts for the people of Ireland, a burden we have carried for over ten years.
After resigning our UPC Foreign Missions appointment in September of 2002 we moved to picturesque East Tennessee where we founded The Pentecostal Church of Johnson City, TN. The Pentecostal Church became a safe haven to many lost souls under our leadership. A passion for souls and desire for revival caused TPC to become the fastest growing church in East Tennessee.
Present
In May of 2008, we answered the call of the Lord to carry this precious gospel to the country of Ireland and subsequently resigned as pastor of our church. Shortly thereafter, at the ALJC General Ministries Conference 2008 in Louisville, KY, we were appointed as Missionaries to the Republic Of Ireland. We are thrilled that God has called us to work in this great nation.
Future
We feel a heavy burden for the Republic of Ireland. With nearly 5,000,000 people in this great nation there is much work to be done. This fertile field is ripe and ready to be harvested and we are going in with sickle in hand. Our goal to plant new churches around the country. Having successfully started three thriving churches over the last twelve years, church planting has developed into the primary focus of our ministry. It's our desire to see at least 50 churches planted in Ireland before the coming of the Lord.
